Power BI Developer

The role is hybrid - working from home and visiting office when necessary.

The BI developer we are looking for should be well versed in designing, developing, and implementing business intelligence solutions using Power BI, Microsoft’s data visualization and business intelligence tool.

Role Overview:

• Design and implement Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations based on business requirements.
• Connect to various data sources, including SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, and cloud services like Azure, to extract, transform, and load data into Power BI.
• Design and implement data models, including creating relationships, calculated columns, and measures, to support business requirements.
• Create KPIs, calculated fields, and custom measures to support business analysis and decision-making.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their reporting and data analysis needs and provide solutions using Power BI.
• Develop, test, and deploy Power BI reports, ensuring that they are accurate, secure, and meet performance requirements.
• Implement security measures, including role-based security, to protect sensitive data and ensure data privacy.
• Monitor and maintain Power BI reports, fixing any issues that arise and ensuring that they are up to date with the latest data.
• Provide training and support to end-users, helping them to effectively use Power BI for their reporting and analysis needs.
• Stay current with new Power BI features and updates and recommend new techniques and best practices for using Power BI to improve the overall business intelligence solution.

Expected Deliverables in Year 1

• Take the complete ownership of the BI solutions and their integration.
• Deliver quality Power BI reports / dashboards to help business make decisions.

Skills / Professional and Technical

• Deep understanding of Power BI Desktop, the Power BI Service, and Power BI Report Server, as well as the ability to create and publish Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets.
• Experience with data modelling, including creating relationships, calculated columns, and measures, and expertise in extracting, transforming, and loading data from a variety of sources into Power BI.
• Strong communication, problem solving and collaboration skills
• Microsoft Azure
• English Proficiency

Work Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience using Power BI preferably in the retail / luxury watch industry
• Deep understanding of Power BI Desktop, the Power BI Service, and Power BI Report Server, as well as the ability to create and publish Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets.
• Should have a strong understanding of data visualization best practices and the ability to design and implement compelling and effective visualizations that communicate insights and information to stakeholders.
• Experience with data modelling, including creating relationships, calculated columns, and measures, and expertise in extracting, transforming, and loading data from a variety of sources into Power BI.
• Strong communication, problem solving and collaboration skills
• Should have a strong understanding of technology and be able to work with a variety of tools and platforms, including cloud services, Excel, SharePoint, and more.

Education:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferably in Computer Science or similar).
